10 Clean Swaps for Your Home
Laundry Detergent: This laundry detergent is as clean as it can get. The plant-based formula is free from toxins, harsh synthetic fragrances, and dyes. It is a great detergent for those with sensitive skin. We do so much laundry in our busy house of 5 and I swear that this leaves your clothes clean clean clean without any strong fragrance.
Whitener: A whitening or bleach alternative is very hard to find! I tested quite a few before sticking with this one. It leaves your clothes bright and when used in concentrate it’s a fabulous stain remover!
Dish Soap: This is the best natural dish soap I’ve found. We’ve tried a few different ones and none quite get things as clean as I would like them! This cleans just as well as the big brands and has much better ingredients. It’s great for those with sensitive skin.
Dishwasher Detergent: A friend of mine introduced me to these a few months ago and I have been hooked! I love that they don’t use microplastics to house the tablets, the jar is refillable and there’s little waste. I had a hard time finding a suitable detergent until I added these to my kitchen. My glassware comes out sparkling and the dishes are clean!
Hand soap: the best hand soap out there! We have used this for years. We have it in every bathroom and by every sink. Clean ingredients and no fake synthetic fragrances or perfumes! The lovely lavender scent comes from real essential oils. In addition, it cleans fantastically and takes only a tiny dot of soap to lather up well, so it will last a long time. I also love that you can order these larger refill bottles to top off the ones you already have at home!
Toilet bowl cleaner: A great clean alternative! No plastic in the packaging, no PVAs in the formula, and no harmful ingredients. Drop in, let dissolve, then scrub with your toilet brush. Easy, simple, and smells clean, too.
All-purpose cleaner: The best for removing everyday grime. The refillable bottles are easy to use just fill with water drop a tablet in and use them! I use this cleaner on everything from counters, and stove tops, to tiles, etc! Finally, you can get rid of all the single-use plastic cleaners in your home!
Wooden Brush & Reusable Sponges: Wooden brushes are the way to go as the long bristles on our brushes are cleaner and harbor less bacteria because they don’t hold water and bits of food, unlike moist kitchen sponges. These reusable sponges are great for spills, washing dishes, and other household tasks. They absorb so much more than a paper towel can and are dishwasher-safe and machine-washable! Win-win!
Easy to use filtered shower head & replacement filter: I ordered this shower head in early summer as a recommendation from Goop. I didn’t quite believe the hype until I tried it for myself! This showerhead removes chlorine, heavy metals & other contaminants from the water. I noticed a difference in my hair and skin almost immediately. Make sure to order these replacement filters so you can swap them out when it becomes time! The first time you replace it you might need some good elbow grease but after that, it’s easy to pop the cover and off. I have the replacement filter set up as a subscription and a new one arrives every three months.
Cookware: Nonstick is always easy to use but not all nonsticks are created the same! Many include harmful toxins (to make it nonstick) that’s why I always gravitate to ceramic as the properties tend to be non-toxic. We received a set of these pots and pans a year or so ago and they are still going strong!
