Packing for a trip can be overwhelming! Here are 10 things that I always make sure to have in my suitcase! Hope this makes your travels just a little bit easier!
- Portable Charger – nothing is worse than a dead phone… especially while traveling!
- Travel steamer – I have tried and tested several travel steamers and this is the one grab while traveling. It’s also dual voltage so you can travel with it abroad.
- Comfortable Shoes – when wandering around new cities it’s always good to have comfortable shoes. For sneakers, I always pack these J. Mclaughlin or my Superga sneaks. And for sandals, I have been loving these! Under $100 and I walked miles in them (just break them in before)!
- Raincoat – always good to have one on hand. I love this one from Dillard’s as it’s lightweight, packable and still chic.
- Sweater for layering – whether it is a chilly morning or needing to add an extra layer, having a versatile layer that can match many of your outfits is always a good idea. I love this wrap as well as the navy lady jacket sweater.
- Scarf – I love how a scarf can be tied in so many different ways: as a belt, around your neck, add it to a bag, or wear it over your shoulders, or even on your head. Such an easy way to glam up any look!
- Travel Cubes – we’ve been using these for nearly a decade and I can’t imagine packing without them! They make going through your belongings easier and packing/unpacking is a breeze. I love that they keep your clothes compact too. Every family member has a different color which really helps when traveling with children.
- Versatile tote – depending on where I am going, I will always opt for a tote that can be worn multiple ways, especially when traveling with kids. I want a tote that can also take me from morning to night. This crossbody has been a favorite, as well as this bamboo tote and my go-to clutch.
- Water bottle – a random item, I know, but I’m grateful to always have it on hand!
- Extra bag or tote – this little packable duffle has saved me time and time again. Whether you did a little retail therapy during your travels or just are not as organized coming home, this extra bag comes in a little pouch but then expands into a duffle. This is the larger size. I promise you will be grateful to have this at the end of your trip! I also love bringing a canvas tote for market runs or making carrying extra items for the kids easier.
