Tips for Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Like a Pro
1. Preview + Plan
Start with the online preview. Flag your favorites and build your Wish List early—it’ll make checkout faster when the sale goes live.
2. Know Your Access Level
Cardholders get first dibs. Log into your account to see your shopping window, based on your Nordy Club status.
3. Shop Fast, Then Refine
Bestsellers go quickly—especially in popular sizes. Add items to your cart early and check out fast. You can always make returns later (Nordstrom’s return policy is one of the best!).
4. Think Ahead
Even though it’s peak summer, this sale is all about fall. Stock up on boots, denim, cozy layers, and even early holiday gifts.
5. Focus on Staples
The Anniversary Sale is the time to snag pricier staples: think quality jeans, jackets, bras, and skincare devices that rarely go on sale.
6. Shop by Category
It can be overwhelming—so break it down. Tackle wardrobe essentials, beauty, baby gear, or home decor one at a time.
7. Set a Budget
With so many great finds, it’s easy to go overboard. Set a spending limit and stick to it—or at least try!
A few things in my cart
A few things I’ll be shopping during this year’s sale…
Fashion and Accessories
The Madewell striped cotton sweater—relaxed, easy, and the kind of piece you throw over denim now and wear with leggings later.
I’m eyeing the Barbour Clydebank quilted jacket—classic and practical but still feels elevated.
The Longchamp Le Pliage City tote is always a favorite for travel and everyday—structured but not fussy.
The Tara Pointelle Half Zip Sweater is such a good layering piece—sporty meets feminine with the prettiest texture detail.
The Dorothea Bootie is a fall staple—sleek, walkable, and polished enough to dress up or down with ease.
Home
I switched all the towels in our home over to this Nordstrom private label line a few years ago and have loved them! I refresh a handful of them every year. You can buy them as a set or separate.
These giant carving boards are great – especially for the holiday season!
This cast iron griddle is the MVP of our mornings in the kitchen – perfect for whipping up pancakes or getting breakfast together for a large group in a pinch!
Beauty
You’ve heard me yap about this shampoo & conditioner for two years now. If you haven’t grabbed it, now’s the time!
And I’ll definitely be grabbing the OSEA Cleanse & Glow Body Set (a $104 value!)—I love their products, and the sets always go fast.
I’ve heard so many good things about these three skin care lines – this one, this one and this one!
Travel
I have & love the Afar Travel Size Hair Dryer for when we’re on the road—tiny but powerful and perfect for my carry-on.
The Flex 29-Inch Spinner Suitcase—we’ve got a few trips coming up, and I love the sleek, lightweight design. These are great for the kids too!
Baby
Four kids later and I feel like I’ve nailed down the baby geat / baby registry game. Here are three things I would absolutely grab from the sale!
We’ve had this baby travel crib for 11 years now and it’s still going strong! Definitely one of my best and most used baby purchases.
Our highchair! I loved ours so much I bought a new one for our 4th! These hardly ever go on sale so a great time to buy.
The bedside bassinet we used with our 4th. I bought it during the sale last summer and it was perfect to have those first few months.
Number one on our baby gear list! This one rarely goes on sale and should be on every baby registry – it’s just that good!
