I recently took note of what we have and love in our kitchen that makes meal prep, entertaining & cleaning a little easier (and more enjoyable ). From table linens to cookbooks, here are 13 kitchen essentials that I can’t live without!
Cookbooks
The first thing that I can’t live without – especially these days! Are my cookbooks! I often find myself in a rut when it comes to planning out my meals for the week for my family and have loved shuffling through my cookbook library for inspiration. If you find yourself in a rut I share our weekly meal plan right here on the blog so take a peek!
The Kitchen Essentials
- Plastic-free dishwasher tablets – These tablets are a great swap – super clean dishes, squeaky clean ingredients & no plastic packaging. It’s a win-win for us & Mother Nature.
- Dish towels – A good and absorbent (but cute) dish towel is hard to come by but these fit the bill!
- Dutch oven – We love soup in our house and here is the Dutch oven we use weekly – but these petite ceramic pumpkin dishes certainly spark joy!
- Soup storage – Okay hear me out. These are THE BEST. We prep plenty of soups and sauces & freeze in these. You can transfer the cubes to a freezer-safe bag and they take up minimal space in the freezer.
- Large crockpot – Love this crockpot! It’s perfect for a large family dinner & has been prepping our meals for years! Way better than the expensive all-clad version we registered for.
- Kitchen sheers – I have three of these in my drawer and am always pulling for them. From cutting herbs to cutting pizza (and the occasional kid’s homework project! lol ) .. these sheers do it all! And get thrown in the dishwasher when I’m done.
- Butter crock – My mother-in-law got me hooked on this years ago and I’ve never looked back. Perfectly soft butter whenever you need it. It will quite possibly change your life 😉 Almost makes me feel like I’m in Paris with a fresh baguette and butter.
- Knives for kids – My kids love to help in the kitchen and these knives are a great way for them to get involved in the meal prep! Even my youngest can use them!
- Bluetooth/digital meat thermometer – I discovered this thermometer at my in-laws this summer! Whether you are grilling for one or a large group this gadget is incredible! A perfect cook every time!
- Colorful wine glasses – Colorful glasses are here to stay! I love this deeper rose shade for fall and the holidays.
- Table linens – I ordered this for our Thanksgiving table last year and it is back! Great price (kid friendly) so no need to worry about spills! Can’t forget these $28 napkins or these blockprint ones!
- Oven mitts – Random I know but I swear by these oven mitts! The rubber grip on it makes sure you don’t drop a thing and is easy to clean! Also, use them when trying to open a tough sealed jar!
