Always excited to head to Europe for the summer with the kids, it’s my favorite trip of the year. While packing for an extended period can seem overwhelming, putting together a capsule wardrobe helps to streamline the process and pack less.
I love building a capsule wardrobe because everything goes together when we are traveling. There is no need to plan out each daily look in advance. I love picking a color story that generally keeps the kid’s outfits cohesive. I’ll mix and max patterns, and texture, and generally try to stay away from graphics. I love that kids can dress themselves each day and getting out the door becomes a bit easier.
Here are a few things that I have loved keeping in our suitcase over the years. These packing cubes are great, each kid has their own color to keep everyone’s pieces separate. We have used these suitcases for quite some time, they have held up really well and fit all the things. A huge plus, the kids love being responsible for their roller bags. Add these monogram stickers for a cute personalized look.
These sandals have been a favorite for our kids, the velcro straps make it easy for them to get on and off. They have truly walked miles in them on our trips from Florida to Portugal! These are my go-to shorts for the boys – they are hand-me-down approved, the perfect length, and come in so many colors.
