I am excited to share my next travel capsule wardrobe for fall travel. When building a capsule wardrobe I always try to mix and match a few classic pieces that are closet staples while adding in a couple of new items. We really don’t really get a “fall” here in LA so crafting up this wardrobe has been so much fun – a pop of color among all the neutrals.
A Few Tips When Curating a Capsule Wardrobe:
- Picking a similar color story allows you to mix and match
- Focus on basics with a few “hero” pieces
- Accessories and layers!
Following these tips will make packing seamless and putting together outfits easier while traveling. From the banks of the Seine to the cobblestone lanes of Notting Hill, this capsule wardrobe ensures you’re impeccably dressed for every museum, café, or whatever adventure that comes your way! Bon Voyage!

Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe

Tops, Sweaters, Jackets & Coats
My number one tip when traveling is LAYERS! You can easily change up an outfit by popping on a jacket, changing a sweater or even putting a different shirt under another layer.
A few standout pieces for me are of course this lady jacket (I have it in three colors now!), a classic trench, and this cashmere shell.
Pants & Skirts
No matter the destination I always try to pack a mix of pants and skirts. I generally will pack 1-2 pairs of jeans (these are my favorites) as well as tailored trousers for a more sophisticated look!
Skirts are also a favorite of mine as they can be simple (like this slip skirt) or fun and printed (this one caught my eye). I like that you can keep them casual by pairing them with a simple t and then dressing it up with a blouse or layer on a lady jacket or sweater.
Dresses
There is no doubt that if I could wear a dress every day I would! I love the effortless look of throwing on one item and you are good to go! When traveling it is easy to take a dress from day to night with just a shoe change and popping on a new set of accessories.
This printed dress caught my eye immediately, I love the simplicity of this one, and this tweed mini is perfection.
Accessories, Bags & Pajamas
Accessories are the heroes of any travel capsule wardrobe. By swapping out a few key items you can elevate a look, create variety in your outfits, and transition pieces from morning to night.
Everyone needs a good crossbody bag, cute sunnies, a scarf to tie on totes or around your neck, and a card case (I am obsessed with mine)!
Shoes
If I could pack a whole suitcase of shoes I would – but that’s just not the reality especially if I pack in a carry-on! I always try to include a variety of shoes in my travel wardrobe, comfortable flats (love these two-tone ones), fun heels (these caught my eye), and a boot or two if space allows (love my high brown leather boots, and these ankle ones are cute too!)
