We just got back from a weekend of camping at 8,000 feet and between the extra sunshine and high elevation, my skin is in need of a little extra love. Here’s a couple things I’ve been loving this week to rehydrate my skin.
Primally Pure Cleansing Oil – I love to start my day with a good cleansing oil. You apply it to your skin while dry and rub it on your face and décolletage. It removes any impurities and left over makeup. To wipe it off, just run a washcloth under warm water and apply to your skin. Slice. Of. Heaven.
Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator – after cleansing, I use this vitamin-infused aloe water to penetrate my skin and enhance delivery of hydration, antioxidants, and nutrients. By naturally filling your skin cells with aloe water the toner helps plump, firm, and increase circulation. The ingredients calm, relieve redness, and help reset the skins natural healing ability while allowing the skin to fully receive effective moisturizing. A must have!
Indie Lee Squalane Face Oil – Squalene is naturally present in our skin and helps prevent moisture loss and increases a soft, supple feel. This oil is derived from olives and replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier while minimizing congestion in oily or acne-prone skin types.
Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream with SPF 30 tinted – This has been my go to face SPF for years. It works as a SPF, moisturizer and primer in one and while it’s rather expensive, it’s really the only way I’ve been able to get SPF on my face everyday for the last three or so years. It uses non-nano zinc oxide to protect against UVA and UVB rays. But it’s certainly not thick and chalky white like other physical sunscreens I’ve tried. There’s been a lot of news lately regarding sunscreen that uses chemical protection (ingredients such as avobenzone, octinoxate and oxybenzone) as opposed to physical protection (zinc or titanium) and its link to cancer and developmental issues if used while pregnant so I’ve made sure to switch out our sunscreens at home.
Josh Rosebrook Hydration Mask – this workhorse has been a longtime favorite and the results show right away. This mask locks in moisture, plumps, and improves skin circulation which protects and supports healthy skin. I love this mask because you just wipe it off with a washcloth without using water and your skin retains more moisture.
One Love Organics Vitamin C Facial Serum – I use this serum at least once a day and it immediately delivers a luminous glow. It helps to deliver moisture and even skin tone with green tea and vitamin E. You can put it on before bedtime or before applying makeup and it makes your skin super smooth.
Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Organic Lip Balm – I think I have one of these in every drawer and every purse in my house. It’s just that good.. without any of the bad stuff! It’s made with organic beeswax, organic jojoba, avocado and hemp oils to help with extra moisturization and it feels sooo good.
