L’Isle-sur-la-Sourge in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France is a charming market town mostly known for its Antique shopping. It is the biggest antiques center in France outside of Paris. Aside from the Sunday Antique Market, there are permanent antique shops open year-round. Visiting the town is a must for any antique lover. The village gets quite busy on Sundays with the market so consider visiting another day and visiting some of the permanent antique shops in town (there are a few hundred of them!). This town is a must-add as you explore during your summer in Provence.
We came early on Sunday morning and strolled through the stalls of the market and ventured into the permanent antique stores. If you know me, you know I LOVE an antique store… It was absolute heaven and they went on forever. I wasn’t looking for anything specific this time but look forward to coming back on our next trip with a little (child-free) time where I can do some shopping. We had a lunch reservation at the most beautiful garden restaurant, Le Jardin Du Quai. It is so charming and they put so much love into what they do. An absolute must!

Afterward, we drove to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse which was on the way back to our home in the village of Saint Didier. The kids grabbed a gelato and we watched the locals take a dip in the crystal clear river. The town has a few really charming restaurants alongside the river and an area where you can rent kayaks, something I’d love to do with the kids when they’re a bit bigger. If you’re adventurous you can walk to the Vaucluse Spring that feeds the river Sorgue.
