November First is here and so is the unofficial countdown to the holidays (22 till Thanksgiving and 54 till Christmas) but who’s counting? Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my tips and tricks for what’s hopefully a memorable and hopefully less stressful holiday season!
The saying goes “You can’t pour from an empty cup” and I think this saying is something we as mothers, and caretakers need to keep in mind. Taking care of ourselves is just as important as taking care of our families. The holidays can really seem like a full sprint most of the time between shopping, planning, and organizing the festivities.
Over the past year or so I have really tried to remember to make time for movement. Take time out of the day to take a breath, slow down, and focus on myself. I encourage you to do the same. Whether that is taking the long way home after dropping the kids off for school, going to a workout class early in the morning, or even popping on a movie for the kids and getting in a quick 20-minute online workout. Taking this time for yourself to recharge is incredibly important as we head into the holidays.
Here’s a few things that make movement just a little more fun!
A really comfortable pair of tennis shoes goes a long way when scheduling out a solid workout or even a brisk walk. I ordered my first pair of these nearly five years ago when I was having some back pain and I’ve never looked back. I use them for my daily workouts and walks when I take the kids to school.
I’m here for a cute but practical water bottle – this one is easy to carry, keeps your water cold, and comes in THE CUTEST colors.
I’m always carrying ALL THE THINGS and this belt bags keep everything organized.
