We just got back from a week in The Holy Land and had a once in a lifetime experience! Here’s everything I packed for exploring the country from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and everything in-between.
When packing for a big trip like this I try to stay as organized as possible and feel like I now have packing down to science (especially when traveling with kids!). Even though we were on our own this trip, here are my top 5 tips that make getting ready and packing for travel a bit easier.
- Have the right travel gear. I recently switched to these Mark and Graham suitcases and love traveling with them. I did take the smaller carry-on to Paris in December and it was perfect! And any scuffs easily come off with a magic eraser.
- Have my packing list ready – checking the weather and adjusting my packing list for the destination helps me ensure I am bringing all the right items. I have put together a print out of the packing list I use for all my trips!
- Use packing cubes – I never travel without packing cubes! They help conserve space and help you stay organized. When traveling with my kids everyone has their own color to keep things separate and accounted for.
- Pack your carry-on in a smart way – when checking luggage I always make sure to have an extra outfit in your carry-on just in case. I also love to include snacks, cleansing wipes, eye patches, lip masks, eye masks, etc.. I’ll share everything that I put in my carry-on below. I carried on a small M&G suitcase and this adorable straw tote.
- Pack your travel essentials – a few travel gadgets I am never without my travel steamer, travel converters, portable batteries, and cord organizers are just a few.

My go-to Packing List
I have been asked time and time again how I prepare for big trips, and truth be told I would be lost without my packing list. Ticking things off one by one helps me stay organized and not leave anything important behind. I have had a spreadsheet layout for years but decided to revamp my packing list and share it with you!
