Back in 2018, while six months pregnant with our third child, we spent the most perfect four days at Borgo Egnazia in Puglia, Italy. I don’t think I’ve stayed anywhere quite as luxurious or relaxing than the Borgo. The grounds are exquisite, the service is extraordinary and the childcare makes everything 100 times better as a parent of young children. I have a hard time going back to the same property twice but I would make an exception for this property in a second. This resort is a must for any family wanting a bit of wanderlust with all the luxurious amenities, and the food… oh the food. I still dream about it and think of all the unpasteurized cheese and wine I had to decline. I hope you enjoy this suitcase diary as much as I enjoyed reminiscing about it. xx, Mary
Borgo Egnazia is a resort unlike any other. Located in Puglia, a region in southern Italy, is known for its stunning coastline and rich cultural heritage. The resort is designed to resemble a traditional Apulian village, with its white-washed walls, stone archways, and lush gardens. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities including multiple swimming pools, a spa, golf course and several restaurants featuring delicious local cuisine. With its beautiful setting, Michelin star restaurant, top-notch facilities and extra attentive service, Borgo Egnazia is the perfect family friendly destination to relax and explore the best that Puglia has to offer.
A perfect day at Borgo Egnazia
I would start my day with breakfast at La Frasca before taking a bike ride through the countryside or a round of tennis.
After the mornings activities, wander down to the Cala Masciola beach club for a bite to eat and dip in the Adriatic.
After a leisurely afternoon filled with sunshine and water-sports, make your way to a cooking class to learn how to make traditional Puglian dishes, such as orecchiette pasta and burrata cheese. Follow it with a wine tasting at the Enoteca to taste some of the regions finest wines.
Dinner is a must at Michelin star Due Camini finished by a nightcap at Bar del Portico while listening to live music under the stars.
Alternatively, lay by the stunning pool all day long while the children are at the kids club and don’t lift a finger. You pick! Either way, it’s heaven!
