Thanksgiving always feels like the start of the coziest stretch of the season – the cooking, the gathering, and those little rituals that make the day feel special. One of my favorite parts every year is setting the table. It’s the moment everything starts to come together: the prep is (mostly) done, the menu is finalized, the outfits are picked out, and the whole house shifts into holiday mode.
If you’re still getting organized, here are the posts that may be helpful as you plan:

Once the planning and outfitting is sorted, the table is where the fun begins.
The Inspiration
This year’s table is colorful, warm, and layered – everything I love most for Thanksgiving. I started with a floral tablecloth filled with deep greens, golds, blues, and berry tones. The print has such a joyful feel, and it made the perfect base for building in texture through rattan, tortoise, and woven accents.

Linens & Layers
A printed tablecloth is always my favorite foundation. It instantly pulls the look together and makes even a simple place setting feel thoughtful. The matching napkins keep things cohesive, while the rattan chargers add warmth and structure beneath each plate.

For each seat, I used:
• A rattan charger
• White dinner plates with a subtle scalloped edge
• Patterned napkins
• Tortoise flatware (look for less here)
• Cane-wrapped glasses
• Wine glasses (I love these for their versatility)
Florals & Centerpiece
For florals, I kept everything low and loose so you can easily talk across the table. Hydrangeas, greenery, and bright pops of color from the peonies made the perfect combination, especially in the woven vase that echoes the rattan chargers and glassware. Arranging flowers the night before is one of my favorite Thanksgiving rituals – it’s quiet, creative, and instantly makes the whole table feel finished.

Place Settings
Place settings are where all the little details come in. I like mixing everyday favorites with special pieces reserved for holidays. This tortoise flatware (which was a Christmas gift last year) added a nice contrast (here is an under $15 set), while woven glasses kept things relaxed and textural.

The Final Touches
The last pieces are what make the whole table feel warm: taper candles in soft neutrals, bud vases scattered down the center, and a few natural stems tucked here and there. Once everything is set, I love stepping back and taking in the whole scene before the house fills up and the holiday really begins.
