Father’s Day has always felt like one of those holidays that deserves more than a last-minute gift card. It’s a chance to actually stop and say thank you — to the dads who show up every single day, in every form. The new dads figuring it out in real time, the coaches cheering from the sideline, the ones who can fix anything and grill everything. The ones who make it all look easy even when it isn’t.
For our family, Father’s Day is really just an excuse to celebrate my husband — the dad of our four — a little louder than usual. He’s the one at every Saturday game, the one who gets called for the late-night water requests, and the one whose dad jokes have gotten so reliably terrible that we’ve all started looking forward to them. He’s steady and present and funny in the best way, and I don’t say that enough.
This year I put together a edit of gifts that feel genuinely thoughtful — nothing over the top, just the kind of things that say: we see you, we love you, and we are so grateful you’re ours.
10 GIFTS TO GIVE THIS FATHER’S DAY
- Men’s loafers under $200 A clean, classic loafer is one of the most versatile things a man can own — dressed up, dressed down, worn with everything. These are a really beautiful option that are under $200 that look far more expensive than they are.
- A pizza oven If he loves to cook — or even if he just loves to eat — a pizza oven is a total game changer. There’s something about homemade pizza night that brings everyone to the table, and dads tend to take their pizza oven very seriously once they have one. This is the gift that keeps giving all summer long.
- His favorite socks and slippers This one sounds simple, but hear me out — my husband has specific socks and slippers he is completely devoted to, and restocking them never gets old. Find the ones your guy swears by and wrap them up.
- A power washer Dads love a power washer the way moms love a good candle — it just makes sense. There is an unreasonable amount of satisfaction in watching one work, and it’s one of those things that immediately becomes indispensable. Driveway, patio, siding — he will find a reason to use it every weekend.
- The pants he’ll wear on repeat Every year without fail, the most-gifted item in our house is a great pair of men’s pants. Whether it’s a relaxed chino, a linen trouser, or a weekend pull-on — find his fit and stock up. He will wear them into the ground and thank you for it every time.
- Athletic wear he’ll actually use Dads are notoriously hard to buy workout clothes for because they tend to wear the same faded shorts until they disintegrate. Give him an upgrade. A great pair of training shorts, a lightweight tee, or a quality quarter-zip — practical, appreciated, and something he’d never splurge on for himself.
- A luxury cotton-silk blend shirt This is the elevated everyday shirt — the one that looks polished enough for a dinner out but feels relaxed enough for a Saturday. A cotton-silk blend has a subtle sheen and drapes beautifully, and it’s the kind of piece that makes a man look like he really has it together. A genuinely great gift.
- A beautiful leather Dopp kit Every man needs a Dopp kit worth keeping. A well-made leather one is the kind of thing he’ll use on every trip for the next decade — and it looks great sitting on a bathroom counter too. This is a gift that gets better with age, and he’ll think of you every time he packs it.
- Shaving cream + shower gel with clean increments. If your guy hasn’t made the switch to clean ingredients yet, this is the nudge he needs. This shaving cream is one of those brands that’s genuinely good — effective, great-smelling, and free of the stuff you don’t want. I love gifting the shaving cream paired with a favorite shower gel as a little set. It feels intentional without being over the top.
- Butter-soft cotton pajamas There is something about a really good pair of men’s pajamas that just feels luxurious. Not the stiff, scratchy kind — the soft, wear-them-every-night kind. My husband reaches for his constantly, and once you find the right pair, you’ll be ordering them in every color.
